Barcos and Kemell Join IJF Leadership

The International Judo Federation Congress has elected Juan Carlos Barcos of Spain and Timur Kemell of Kazakhstan to the IJF Executive Committee. Their appointments add two experienced figures with different connections to the world of Judo.

For Barcos, the election comes with an additional responsibility. He will also serve as IJF Head Referee Director, a role that places his refereeing knowledge at the centre of the federation’s ongoing work.

Barcos brings extensive experience in both Judo administration and refereeing. His long-standing commitment to the sport will support the continued development of refereeing around the world, an area that remains essential to fair competition at every level.

Juan Carlos Barcos will take on the role of IJF Head Referee Director.

Kemell joins the Executive Committee as a Kazakh businessman who has been close to the Judo family for many years. His election reflects his personal connection to the sport and his intention to contribute to the future of the International Judo Federation.

The two new committee members now begin their work within the IJF’s leadership structure. The federation has welcomed Barcos and Kemell and looks ahead to their contribution in the years to come.
