Belgian training hub: Lommel to host three-day European judo camp

From 13–15 March 2026, Lommel in Belgium will turn into a hotspot for Europe’s rising judo talents. The Ilse Heylen Judo Academy, in cooperation with the European Judo Union, is setting up an intensive three-day camp at Sportpark De Soeverein. With more than 1000m² of tatami available, the venue is built for serious randori, technical work and plenty of international mat time.
One weekend in Belgium, and your judo network just got a lot bigger.
The camp welcomes judoka from U15 all the way to senior level. Athletes born in 2012 and 2013 can join in U15, and highly motivated judoka from 2014 are also welcome there. U18, U21, U23 and older participants are eligible if they were born in 2011 or earlier. Across five high-quality training sessions, the focus will be on sharpening skills, testing yourself against new partners and building confidence for future competitions.
The full package costs 100 euros per participating athlete, including all five sessions and four shared meals. Single sessions or meals can be booked separately for those with tighter schedules. Each delegation is fully responsible for its own judoka, including insurance for injuries and third-party liability during the camp period. The Ilse Heylen Judo Academy clearly states it cannot accept responsibility on that front.
Accommodation is recommended at Center Parcs De Vossemeren Lommel, located about two kilometres from the sports hall. Teams handle their own bookings directly with the park and are advised to follow the Golden House Rules during their stay. Transport can be arranged on request, with price offers available via email. For many European athletes, this camp offers the perfect mix: tough training, an easy-to-reach Belgian venue and a chance to connect with the wider judo community.
