Science Steps Onto the Tatami in Zagreb

The 9th Scientific and Professional Conference on Judo will bring researchers, coaches and judo professionals together at the Westin Zagreb on 11–12 November 2026. Linked to the Zagreb Judo Grand Prix, the two-day event is designed to connect scientific research with practical work on the tatami.

Its programme will begin with scientific presentations and professional discussions before moving into practical tatami sessions on the second day. The format puts theory and application side by side, with a focus on how knowledge can support daily work in Judo.

Topics on the agenda include athlete development, training methods, injury prevention, safeguarding, psychology, physiology and technological advances in sport. The conference also aims to encourage innovation and collaboration across the international Judo community.

Research and practical Judo will share the same stage in Zagreb.

The event is organised in conjunction with the Zagreb Judo Grand Prix, giving participants an opportunity to attend the international competition alongside the conference programme. That connection places coaching, athlete care and sporting research close to elite Judo action.

Researchers, coaches and other Judo professionals are invited to submit contributions by 23 October 2026. Proposed contributions may take the form of academic research, practical presentations or professional viewpoints, while abstracts must not exceed 350 words.

Further information on submission guidelines and conference details is available through the official conference document.
